A Day With Diabetes
- by Holly
Today I read a wonderful article on a program the ADA has started it is called Diabetes for a Day and what happens during this program is that people who do not have diabetes learn what it is like to have this disease.
This article was about two congressmen who took part in this program, one was diagnosed with type 2 the other type one. Both women went to live with a person who had there type of diabetes so that they could be shadowed and really get to know what these people go through. Even though one did have a child with type 1, I do hope she learned something from having to be a type 2 for the day.
Both women will be discussing this experience in a congressional briefing in September and I for one am hoping some people will listen to them.
