This is something that many people don’t think about, how would you feel if you were eight, nine, or ten and were losing your hair due either to illness or another unexplained disease? You would feel hurt, left out and alone. I know this because I have been losing my hair since I was 12 and it’s very hard to deal with. I also have worn a wig since I was 16 and they are very expensive, the good ones can be anywhere from $200-$500, the best being over $1000.

This is why I love the program Locks of love. This program gives wigs to children who are ill and can not afford them. Recently I read on a blog about a child who cut her hair to donate to this program. I loved how such a young girl could do this and I know of many more who have also. Not only is she helping another child but it is something she can feel good about doing. If you want to check out her before and after pictures, check out the blog Simple Kind Of Life.  If you are interested in donating call your local salon and ask them if they will help you donate. I know a few people who have gotten free haircuts doing this.  Please check here for guide lines for donations.
