According to an article in readers digest Finland is one of the best and greenest places to live. In fact 4 of the top 5 best places to live based on green living are in the Nordic area, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Austria make up the top 5.
Why is this important? Well if your looking for a country that is really into the environment these are it. They are also great places to live. Since the real ideal place would be a rain forest or the Arctic, these are more logical choices.
Finland tops the list because of there air and water quality, it also has a low instance of infant diseases. Of course they do have other problems, just like every other country. They have had to increase there use of fossil fuels because of colder winters. There main energy source during the warmer months is hydro power.
Wondering where the United states is on this list, well we fall at 23, while Britten is at 25th. Maybe we should think about making some changes?
