A dream

Have you ever had one of those strange dreams where you feel like your running wild and then something weird happens. I had one of those last night. I was standing in the middle of a huge room full of people, I look down and there is a brown bear sitting there. I look up and the people are gone, the bear is gone and theres a little girl in front of me. She then disappears and I wake up.

It’s been bothering me all morning as my sister had her baby girl last night, I don’t think it has anything to do with that, but it still makes me want to take off to the Outer Banks for a few days and think.

I think it’s more of a personal problem that I’m dealing with. but who knows, it may just have been a weird dream.

Lack of Photographic Thursday

I’m sorry everyone, I didn’t do PT last week because of the holiday this week it’s because my car broke down yesterday and I’m waiting to hear the damage on that and my sister just went into the hospital to have her baby.

A very exciting time around my house right now. I hope to be able to get some good pictures to put up next week. So PT will be back next Thursday. Until then, enjoy your week and check back everyones in a while.

What do you think of the new look?

Another Johnny Depp Movie.

I have to try to remain calm. I am a huge Johnny Depp fan and he has a new movie coming out, unfortunately it’s not another pirate movie, even though I will be running to get that on DVD very soon. I love his acting in that film, he’s so crazy and hot and I don’t know why. Of course I’ve liked him since he did Edward Scissor Hands. So it could just still be my girl crush on him. But you have to admit on of the best lines ever said in a movie was “Why is the rum gone?” It’s classic and can be used in so many situations.

I think the best thing about Johnny Depp is that he can do both dark acting and the lighter more normal acting. He was a wonderful actor in Finding Neverland which showed just how diverse he really is. I think one of my favorite Johnny Depp movies, besides the pirates movies was the movie The Libertine. Where he played the role of a womanizing poet. The part consisted of a man who went though so many changes in life that he was not the same person at the end of the film then he was at the beginning.

Sweeney Todd is the new Johnny Depp movie being released in theaters this Christmas. If you have never hear of Sweeney Todd before it is a musical thriller, so yes there will be singing, but there will also be blood and gore. So most people will be happy.  You can find some great trailers and information if you visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site or you can visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace, yes the movie is on myspace, but isn’t every movie on there now?

I will be going to see this, as if you haven’t figured it out I love Johnny Depp, but I also like some of the other actors and actresses in the movie like Helena Bonham Carter, and Timothy Spall. Of course being it’s directed by Tim Burton it is going to be a very interesting movie.

My Car Hates Me

I’m on my way to class when my car starts making this weird noise. I turn off the radio and the heat to listen. I stop at a stop sign the noise stops. I keep driving with everything off, no sound. So I turn the radio and heat back on and a few seconds later, the car jerks like I hit the breaks, but I didn’t. The service engine soon light flashes on and I’m confused. A second later the car starts running again, but it’s acting funny. I don’t trust it so I stop the car, turn it off and it won’t start up again.

I broke it, there was antifreeze all over the road, I even had a trial following me from the stop sign I stopped at. I called my sister to come get me. She called her boyfriend to let him know he needed to come look at the car, he did, I broke it. The timing chain broke and who knows what else, I may have to replace the head and so on, so pretty much I may have to get a new car, this one is a 97 and not worth more then $500 when it was working.

Of course I don’t have a job and it’s an hour and a half drive to school. So I think I’m stuck in the middle of nowhere for the next year until I can save up enough blogging to buy a $2000 car, it’s all googles fault, if they were not so mean I would probably have it in about 3-4 months, but no they don’t care that I get to school. Since I don’t get much traffic on any of my blogs I can’t get good advertising.

Hopefully I’ll get lucky and it won’t cost too much. It still sucks though, I wish I could find a job, but until the economy in Michigan improves that will never happen.

Too much time

Yesterday I drove a round trip 3 hour drive for a class that was suppose to be at least 3 hours. It lasted a half hour and was over. I was not very happy as gas is expensive. So I decided to stop at an outlet mall I go by every day on my way to school to see what they had for good Christmas deals.

I didn’t buy anything as I don’t have the money this week, but I looked and found a few things I will be buying for gifts. My favorite store had those as seen on TV items. They were pretty cool. The one I think I may get for my older sister is the pasta one that cooks past in like 2 seconds. That could come in handy for her as my niece loves pasta and is very impatient and wants to make it herself. She’s only 7 so she’s not quite ready for the stove and pot yet, but I think she could do this will a little help.

There were a few other things, a watch for my brother I might get and a cool lighthouse picture for my mom. I’m still not sure about these things. I always do this with Christmas though, I go back and forth between different items for everyone for about a month and then a week before I go out and buy something completely different!

Maybe next year I’ll break the habit!

Make Good Money this Holiday?

We all have gotten them. The email telling us that we won the UK lottery, or we could have a great job as an accountant type for a major company overseas. I even got one telling me that a company in France wanted to hire me as a designer because they heard I do great work.

What do all of these emails have in common? They are all scams.  Yes even that nice email I got about living in France; I’m a design student I have never done any “real” work, just my friends homes. The problem with these scams is that they show up even more during the holiday season. Scammers know people have saved for Christmas items and know that they have money in their bank accounts or that they want to make more money for shopping. Scammers will pose as anyone they can to get to that money, or to get you to get to that money for them. That is where these accountant type jobs come into play. They send you false checks and have you cash them. Oh and guess what, you go to jail when it’s caught, not them.

Another type of scam to watch out for are the charity scams, they claim there taking money for a charity, you give them your credit card, and then watch all of your money disappear. There is also a bill paying scam going on. This one I was almost hit by. A collection agency called me and informed me that I owed money for a bill that I had just paid 2 weeks ago to another collection agency. They were asking for twice the amount and would only accept a direct transfer from my bank account. They hung up very quickly when I informed them I already paid it and that they were a scam.

Please be careful about what information you give out this holiday. Also be careful about those nice jobs online that you hear about, the one’s that will make you rich with little work. They are all scams. Some may work for a few people, but most of the time they don’t and the people ruining the scam know this. Keep in mind most people only care about themselves, they don’t really want to help you.

Check out this post by someone who is trying to do something about scammers, There are some great tips on there to help you stay away from these scams.

If you have an email and are not sure, here is a site that is posting scam emails.

When I worked in retail I was always short on cash sometime during the month. I used a pay day loan service because really I had no choice, it was either be charged late fees or take out that loan. I can see though where people will abuse them, they take out the loan for silly things like electronics or shopping. Not for things they really need.

But, payday loans are a huge help to people who have to live paycheck to paycheck. Lenders, landlords and other bill collectors don’t care if you get paid 3 days after the bill is due, they want there money a week before that anyway. Payday loans can help with that. I know my cell and my car insurance would have been canceled a few times if I wasn’t able to use a payday loan service. I knew the problems with them and I did get stuck in that wonderful cycle of having to take one out every two weeks for about 2 months. But I got back on track and was better for it.

I see where people think they need to go away, as some people do abuse them. but they are such a huge help in a world that really just doesn’t care about anyone anymore.
