My niece is 7 and she’s treated like a tomboy by my sister. She doesn’t get to play with her dolls much and she doesn’t get to do girl things. Most of this I think is because my sister was a tomboy so she has no interest in any of it. She also is convinced that my niece is just like her and doesn’t want anything to do with this stuff either.

This Christmas I thought it would be nice to get her makeup mirrors One that she could keep at her house and one to keep at grandma’s. I would also buy her some play makeup. I just hate that she is going through the same thing I did when I was younger, my mother never let me do anything I liked to do, now I am seeing the consequences of it. I don’t try to do anything because I think that I will fail and that it’s not important and someone will always be better then me so theres no point. Yes sad I know, but it’s a problem that could have been avoided. I know if I ever have children I will support what they like to do. There are just too many emotional problems that happen if you don’t.
