After hearing my little brother whine for the last week about seeing the movie Beowulf my mother finally broke down and took him to see it. I tagged along since I had read the poem in high school and was curious to see what they did with it.

We saw it in 3D which was interesting. Of course the parts that were the best was when something sharp was pointed at the screen but thats to be expected. I now see that they have also gotten better with some other aspects of 3D viewing.

Now I’ll get to the story. I thought they did a good job of making the story interesting and long enough for a movie. That said, if you have read the poem and don’t like it when things change a little in the movie, then don’t go see this. They took the movie beyond the poem and made a decent storyline out of it. There is some sexual parts to this movie so I really wouldn’t recommend it for anyone under 13 unless you let them watch that type of thing, which in my opinion is wrong, but thats another post and again my opinion.

I found the movie very enjoyable. It was fun to watch and really had some interesting aspects to it. I personal like how they made it more realistic. Many reviews I have read were mad because they didn’t depict Beowulf as a selfless hero. Well guess what if this had actually happened, which it probably did in some aspect. He did do it for greed, trust me, the fairy tale hero has not, does not and will never exist.

My rating of this movie~ A, It’s a good movie, take your teens to see it.

I have decided that people who think they are going to get rich without doing anything or putting in any start up money are all annoying. Guess what it cost to get somewhere, maybe not much but you do have to put up something. I make money blogging, yes even with this whole google mess I’m not afraid to say it. I MAKE MONEY BLOGGING! I’m already a zero so it really doesn’t matter.

How can I make good money blogging, well thats simple. I tried it by using a free hosting service, then I decided I enjoyed blogging for cash and fun and bought my own hosting. Now I am going to be moving my other blogs to there own sites as well.

My next step in my online money making venture is to start up my own store, yes I have one for Blogger Love, but I want one of my own off of Ebay. So I’m now looking into ecommerce hosting. I could use the hosting I have, but I want it on a different account. I may still go with my hosting provider I have for this blog, but I also want to see what other small business hosting is available. One hosting provider that I am looking at is AQHost, they pretty much set up everything for you. Yes eventually I would like to learn how to do it, but I’m a student I’m learning enough right now.

An online store can be very profitable, depending on what you are selling. I have a floral certificate so I would probably stick to craft and floral items like Christmas decorations and other seasonal gifts. I also could do other silk flower arrangements to sell. I still have time to think about what exactly I’m going to do. There are so many options, it’s wonderful to think about it, right?

I love getting free things, it doesn’t happen often but I still love it. Right now I am looking at trying to win a free laptop. How? Well by writing this wonderful post for you. Yes I can possibly win a free laptop just for blogging. Nice huh? Who is doing this well of course the wonderful people at The Thinking Blog.

So what kind of laptop are they offering? You ask well they are giving out a rugged water resistant laptop. Nice huh? I like the idea, even though I don’t plan on scuba diving with the thing, it’s still nice to know that if it get wet it won’t be hurt and I won’t lose everything I have. If I don’t win this I will probably buy one in another year when I actually have the money to do so.  So I’m going to be waiting to see if I can win this thing. While I’m waiting why don’t you check it out and see if you can win. Someone has to win right, might as well be one of my readers if it’s not me!

It seems like the last few days I can’t sleep. I just don’t get it. I was fine a week ago and I wasn’t very tired, now I seem to toss and turn at night. I just can’t understand. I don’t have homework or anything due, I don’t have the huge project to work on anymore. All I can think is that I am pretending to be stressed because I’m so use to it? Maybe I’m just crazy.

I’m thinking I’m going to try to get a ton of stuff done tomorrow, I can’t today because I’m doing family stuff, but tomorrow my goal is to wear myself out. I’m going to clean everything I can and move as much as possible. Okay I say that now but I will probably sit in front of the computer at some point and lose all track of time. I always do this, it’s horrible. I need to break myself of that habit.

My sisters boyfriend is a huge fan of the Die Hard movies. When I saw that AAMCO was having a contest to send someone to Hollywood to hang out with a stunt man from the movie. I couldn’t resist entering him. I know he would love the chance to ask about all of the different stunts and things in the movie. He would probably also just love the chance to get away from all of the kids for a while. yes my sister would love it more, but she’s not as big of a fan and that would not be fair. I’ll try to send her to a NASCAR event next year. Of course she will be taking me with her!

The die hard contest itself is very easy to enter you just fill in your information and go. You even get a free Oil change in the process. Which my sisters boyfriend does not need, since he use to do that for a living, but I can use it!

Yes I thought about going myself. I would love to go to California, but I would rather go shopping or something. I’m not really into hanging out with someone I don’t know, even some celebrities wont entice me. I know I need to get over it and I’m working on it. Right now I’m too busy with other stuff though. Too bad right now a trip to Hollywood would be very nice.

As I sit here winding down the Holiday I wonder why it really doesn’t feel like a holiday anymore. We were rushed as my little sister had to drive 4 hours to her boyfriends parents and my step dad, a truck driver is still not home. It really didn’t feel like Thanksgiving, but it hasn’t in a few years so I’m not surprised, just a little disappointed.

What I want to share with you now is what I am thankful for.

I am thankful to be alive. I almost died this year and it has helped me change a little, but there is still much more work to do.

I am thankful for my family. Without them I would not be entertained. I mean that in a good way. We are not a close family that shares everything, but we are closer then alot of family’s.

I am thankful for the Internet, without it I would never have met most of the people I know and love. I would not be able to afford my medications and I would probably not be here writing this right now.

The last thing, but not the least is my cat. Yes I know this sounds strange, but when my father passed away almost 3 years ago now. I moved into an apartment soon after and lived alone in a town where I had no friends. I didn’t go out, I didn’t see anyone except at school. She was my one companion and the only person I could talk to. Yes I consider my cat a person.

This month I had a contest on Blogger Love asking my members what they are thankful for. The two who responded tied for votes and now they will win $5 pay pal. I voted and found it very hard to do, I just shut my eyes and pointed!

One winner wrote her what I’m thankful for entry on her blog, Brain Foggles, Her entry was wonderful and very insightful into her personality. She is a wonderful person with a good heart.

The Other winner wrote her what I’m thankful for entry on the forums:

Let’s see….what am I thankful for….
This may sound a bit cheesy and probably a lot like parental bragging but I am really thankful that my daughter is such a good girl. She has never been in trouble in school, she is always polite to everyone and she always helps the smaller kids. When I see how some of the other kids in her class act, I always thank my lucky stars that she’s so well behaved.

If you would like to know more about her please visit her blog The Geek Within.

I hope that one day I can look back and realize that I was just still dealing with things this Thanksgiving and hopefully I will understand exactly why I felt as if this were not a holiday. I hope you all had a wonderful day, even if you do not live in the US and celebrate Thanksgiving.

I found myself sitting here this morning at my computer with every intention of getting on and wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. What did I do instead. I looked at my email first and started looking though cat christmas ornaments. After doing this for about 10 minutes I realized that stores have really made it very easy to skip over the Thanksgiving holiday. They put all there ad’s out for Black Friday, and they advertise about there Christmas specials. Now I know why they do this, I worked in retail. It works and it sells items.

Retail of course is not the only reason thanksgiving is being pushed aside. The trend toward not celebrating holidays is part of the reason. I agree that religious holidays should either not be celebrated in schools, or we should celebrate all of the main religious holidays by learning about them. Now I don’t mean main religions, just pick a few holidays from as many religions as you can find and teach students why they are holidays to these people.

Anyway more on that in another post. What I hate right now is how national holidays are becoming less and less important, but most places are still closed on Christmas. Now I’m a Christan. I believe in god, but I just don’t get why with freedom of religion we celebrate our national holidays less then religious ones. I think much of it has to do with the fact that we as a collective American whole just don’t have the national pride that was once in our country. What do you think?
