After the last few days I have started to realize that the government still does not have a good idea of how bad it really is out there. The ideas they have will help some, but I think they will come too late to hold off anything. Michigan of course is the worst off state right now, so I may be seeing thing differently then others.

Right now here it is hard to find work, it’s even harder when you only have 2 years of work experience and your in school. It’s also hard when there are so many people who have years of experience looking for work. The auto plants are leaving and they are not coming back. It’s just not feasible in the world economy. Getting paid $30 an hour to push a button is ridicules and all it did was hurt the people who made minimum wage more. They couldn’t afford all the nice thing the auto workers could. Do I blame the workers, not really, I blame the union. The auto workers union has ruined Michigan and I for one am actually happy to see them leaving. It will make life better overall as people will actually be able to afford some things they couldn’t before. Of course this is all a few years down the road.

I don’t want people to think I hate all unions, I don’t some are not too bad, the auto union though is horrible and they have made it so that US auto companies can not compete. Thats all I’m saying. So what do you think, is the US going to have a long hard recession or do you think we will get out of it quickly?
