Get your business noticed

Posted by Holly on Apr 9, 2008 under stuff, website review

I have learned a few things in my design classes and one is if you go into business for yourself you need to be get noticed so your business can grow. Most people know this but they are not sure how to do it. Newspapers and TV work well, but they can be expensive. Many businesses are turning to online directories, advertising and searches to get the word out about their business.

One new site that anyone who has or wants to start a business should check out is MyCityFaces.com. It’s still in beta but it looks very promising. It’s a great way for local people to find your business. There is a great search feature that allows you to search by city, and category. Right now it’s mostly major cities, but there are 3 listed in my state that I’m close enough to drive to. So I think they are doing well. I’m sure once they are out of beta they may look into adding more cities. They have a few listings so far and I really do see this growing into a large site that is visited often by people looking for quality products and services.
