A Trip and Time for Clocks
Today I went out to a local town that is a tourist attraction. They have the whole Bavarian theme going on and they have some great stores and gallery’s to check out. One of them is a clock gallery that I love to go into. They have a huge collection of clocks. While I was in there I decided that a grandfather clock may be a great gift for a friend of mine who is moving into her own home.
She loves anything that is out of the ordinary and fun. I decided to check out some websites online and found one I really like called 1800-4clocks. I actually think I have mentioned them before on this blog and there is a good reason for it. They have a great selection of clocks including grandfather clocks, they even have a blog about clocks. One of my favorite post on this blog is a post written today actually called Grandfather clocks: Not just for Grandfathers. The reason I like this post so much is that it reminds me of a teacher I have, she has always told us that classic design is not just for your grandmother. I found the similar quote funny and kept reading. I love how it explains that clocks are not just old looking and dull. They can really create a great focal point for a room or start a conversation. My aunt has one that moves and chimes, everyone always comments on it.
So I have picked out a few clocks for my friend, she’s not moving until June so I have some time to decide which one I want. I’m leaning toward one of the Howard Miller grandfather clocks right now, but we will see what happens.
