Everything and Anything

I can’t believe how many people have responded to my post Living to die. Thank you all for your words of wisdom and understanding.

Yesterday I got a call from a good friend of mine, one of the few I have left. He is being kicked out of the home he is staying in because of some confusion and miscommunication between the married couple providing him a place to stay. Now he may have to live out of his car just so he can finish his fire fighter probationary period. I wish I could help but I live 2 hours away and have no money myself.

My mom did offer him a room for a little while here, but there are not jobs so I’m not sure he will accept it. I also live in an area where all the fire departments are volunteer. That won’t help him much. It just makes me realize that being on the street would be worse then being here. The worst part with this guy is that he is doing his probation training and working another job and still does not make enough to pay rent. It just seems so unfair that no one he knows will help him. His parents passed away a few years ago and his sisters who have homes and room claim they don’t. It’s a reminder that my life isn’t all that horrible, even though it is hard to deal with sometimes.
