A Strange Phone Call
Yesterday I got a strange phone call from a collection company about my father. My father passed away a few years ago and had a lot of debt, but I thought we had covered all of it. I called everyone I could find and let them know we couldn’t pay it. I had just started school and was unemployed, my sister worked in fast food and was a single mom.
Now I’m wondering what to do about it. Someone told me once not to call because it would just validate the debt and they would keep bugging me about it. They also thought it could end up on my credit, all of his debt could at that point. I’m worried as there was no will, lawyer or anything involved and I don’t have the money to hire one. I’m going to try to see what I can find out, but I have this feeling I’m now screwed.

I don’t think you can be held responsible if your name was not on the debt!
I hope not. But you never know when it comes to someone passing, companies just want their money. I may end up having to call a lawyer if they call again.
