Diets And Crazy Things

I’m sitting here this morning watching the TV and they are talking about ways to save on calories for the superbowl. They have some great ideas and there is nothing wrong with that, but I think that people need to remember it’s okay to splurge every once in a while and something like the superbowl could be one of those days for you, for me is the Daytona race next month! My point is we seem to be so obsessed with sticking to our diets every day that we really end up depriving ourselves of food we love during special occasions.

I also wonder about the tv ad where the women is at a birthday party and pulls out a diet shake instead of eating a peice of cake, it’s a specal occausion and unless you attend 3 birthday parites a week one peice of cake is not going to kill you or hurt your weight loss that much. Of course these ads are aimed at the people who are on diets to lose 10 lbs or something and not change their lifestyle.

Trust me if your looking to lose weight, eat well 90% of the time, pick one meal/snack 2 days a week to splurge on and let it go. As long as you stay on track most of the time you will see results. Oh and move a little too. I lost 40 lbs just changing my diet, now I have to take that next step to more exercise. I like this way because I would love to remember a day because I had fun and enjoyed myself, not because I was worried about my diet.
