Baker College Screws Up and Life Changes
I’m thinking I may not be able to graduate at all now. Baker College has really just been the worst experience for me and my biggest mistake in my life. Thats saying something trust me.
Pretty much I have been told that because I have taken independent studies though the campus I started at the campus that actually offers my degree could refuse to give it to me. I’m told this now, when I only have 3 classes left to take. I have to say I’m stressed, worried and broken. The frustration I have from dealing with the administration at Baker is causing health issues, and depression. They really don’t have high standards for their students at all, claiming that after spending over $75000 for a bachelors degree that we as interior designers should work in a paint store or a furniture store. Both jobs usually don’t require more then a high school diploma.
I really wish I had known all of this before going there. I wish I could change a lot of things, but I can’t. I suppose if they don’t let me graduate I will have to wait to finish, go to another school and redo pretty much my entire degree. Meaning I’m going to spend at least another $150,000 over the next 4 years, all paid for by me, I get no help at all this time because it’s the same degree. I’m hoping that I can talk to the 2 schools I’m looking at and find out if there willing to work with me on any of this.
It just seems that once again I can’t have what I want, the sad part is this time I sunk so much money into it, and now to come out with nothing. I do want to let anyone who is looking at Baker College of Michigan know, don’t waste your time, get a degree from a real school, one that is known and may actually care that you graduate and get a job in your field. Baker is happy if you end up flipping burgers, because then they can at least claim that you are employed.
