Non-Moms Joining Mom Blogger Programs
The other day I was talking with a friend of mine who is just getting into blogging. She is a mom of two and I started telling her about all the cool sites out there for mom bloggers. When I told her I was a member of a few she looked at me funny and asked me why I would join a mom community when I’m not a mom.
Her question did not surprise me as I have asked myself the same thing. I think a lot of it has to do with how family oriented I am. Trust me if I could have been married and had kids by now I would have, I love kids. I spend a good amount of time with my two nieces and nephews and according to most people I am a better mom figure to them then my sister. (she’s just very busy with work is all) I figure I do have some idea as to what kids like from my nieces and nephew and from helping raise my 2 little sisters and my little brother, yes I am one of 5 kids.
I do not join every mom blogger program out there, but I find that they tend to have more things for women then general blogging programs and the community is great. Truthfully I join because there just is nothing out there for my age and my situation. So do you think it’s strange that someone who is not a mom would join a mom blogging community?

Boy can I relate to this. I too am a non-mommy blogger who is active in mommy blogger communities and groups. I want to be a part of those amazing groups of women bloggers, and the truth is . . . mommy stuff isn’t the main focus. I find that there is more talk about work, SEO, reviews, giveaways, men, etc. than being a mom. I am just glad I have been welcomed, even though I am not a mom. I bet you feel the same way.
I am very happy that I was welcomed into most of the mommy sites I joined. It’s just the best place to meet people who are serious about blogging and are also very helpful people.
