I haven’t been feeling well at all today, I’m not sick, but something just doesn’t feel right. I’ve been trying to get things done today, but I haven’t been doing a very good job with it. Well now my day has just gotten a little brighter as I logged into Social Spark and saw that this blog is a featured blog!

It’s a bright spot to my blah day and I’m really happy it happened I needed that today. I feel though that I should be writing something important, but I decided to get my favorite part of this blog shown off instead. I give you The photo for this week. Enjoy!

This is the view out of my back door. It’s a nice view.

Yesterday and Last night we had a huge snow storm come in. Well at about 10 pm my sisters boyfriend decided that he was going to need the van we had sitting out here to do his paper route today. So he came out to take it. I think he walked from the main road here as there were no car tracks, either that or they blew over this quickly. Yes this picture is a picture of our front yard at about 11pm last night, the light on the snow is the headlights from the van, the driveway is directly in front of those lights on the left side of the picture. You can’t see it so don’t try.

I thought it looked interesting and I snapped this picture. It has been photoshoped a little to give you a more realistic view, night time shots stink with this camera.

snow globe

This photo is of a Christmas gift I got this past year. I love it, it lights up and plays music. It is the second snow globe I have gotten for my snow globe collection. There is a very funny story about this snow globe. I didn’t actually get it on Christmas. My mom forgot to wrap it and give it to me. A few days after Christmas we were talking about something and I mentioned my collection and how I only had one globe so far. My mom looked at me funny, then said “I think I have something for you.” She took me into her room and pulled out a box. My personalized snow globe was inside.

The worst part is she also found some things she forgot to give my little brother. She just had alot going on before Christmas so I forgive her!

Over the summer my parents and my little brother went to Canada to see our exchange student, no I didn’t get to go. Anyway they ended up going to Niagara falls and this is one of the pictures they took.

Niagara Falls

This was a big stop for our exchange student who was hoping to see them while he was here with us. Unfortunately we couldn’t do that so his parents decided they would stop later. I think this is a natural wonder that everyone should see. I hear it’s beautiful. I think my one little sister and I are the only ones in our family that have not been there now. Eventually I will get there.

Facts about Niagara Falls

The falls are made up of 3 different waterfalls:

  • American Falls  (between Prospect Point and Luna Island)

  • Bridal Veil Falls (between Luna Island and Goat Island)

  • Canadian/Horseshoe Falls (between Goat Island and Table Rock)

The height of the falls is 176 ft but the actual fall is 70 because of rocks at the bottom

The falls were a result of the last ice age, just as the great lakes are

It is located between the two cities of Niagara falls New York and Niagara Falls Ontario

Since today is my 25th Birthday you get to look at this cute picture of a cake. I didn’t take this one, but I found it a few days ago for my desktop and thought it was fitting. My plans for the day include lunch with my friend who’s birthday is also today.

It’s strange when I think about everything I wanted to do by now.

I have done nothing.

Not because I haven’t tried, it just never worked out and now I am a quarter of a century old today. That makes me feel kinda old!

 Light up gift box

To end out the year I thought I would post something that is calm looking and really cool. My mother made these and this one I really like. I’m thinking we should sell these, but I’m sure shipping would stink, so it’s something we are thinking about. I’ll have to let you all know if we do.

Christmas Tree

A Christmas tree beginning

In 1841, Prince Albert, who was original from Germany and was husband of Queen Victoria, set up a Christmas tree at Windsor Castle in England.  The custom of Christmas trees spread quickly to the middle class and then to working people.

For Victorians, a good Christmas tree had to be six branches tall and be placed on a table covered with a white damask tablecloth. It was decorated with garlands, candies and paper flowers.

I hope you like my Christmas tree, the picture is not as good as I would have liked it to be, but you get the point. I hope everyone has a happy holiday season and for those of you that do celebrate Christmas a Merry Christmas too.
