The 4th political ad in 3 minutes.
- by Holly
Okay I haven’t been on a rant this year as much as I was during the last presidential election, but really, this is all starting to get to be too much.
Just to state I am voting for Obama if you don’t like it, bite me I’m not yelling at you for voting the way you are. That said… One thing I hate right now is that the only thing the US is looking at right now is the economy and jobs. That’s all I hear about, that’s all that matters. Okay yes it’s important, but what about everything else a president has to do?
I was just reading this article on yahoo about how New York Mayor Bloomberg endorses Obama now I personally don’t care who indorses who, but what I found was horrible was the comments. People were mad because Mayor Bloomberg is supporting Obama because he is pushing climate change. They want to know about jobs. Well here’s the thing CONGRESS is why we don’t have jobs, not the president and if you don’t know that you need to go back to school. CONGRESS is why we can’t get anywhere because they are so stuck on “their party” and not crossing party lines and all the bull shit that nothing has gotten done.
Here is why I’m voting for Obama
1. The world respects him.
Until the Olympics I was actually giving Romney a good look, but when I realized that our potential future head of state landed and England and proceeded to tell them what they did wrong. I decided he was not getting my vote. The president is really like the queen of England. A figure head. How we show ourselves to the world.
2. He is for Climate Change.
Yes I know. Jobs who cares about the earth! Well, here is my opinion, if in 10 years we are all under 18 miles of snow and ice and trying to survive, JOBS WILL NOT MATTER! Now creating jobs and saving the planet, now that’s a good plan. All of the crazy storms and weather we have had is because of global warming. Truth, we may not have a planet in 20 years, but hey you’ll have lots of money to burn in a fire because it will be useless then!
3. The Economy is Improving!
OMG I said it! The economy is improving how do I know. I went to school for interior design. Furniture sales and home good are the last thing to pick up when the economy is bad. I have been looking for a job in this field for SIX YEARS! I got a job last week at a furniture store doing what I went to school for. I have had more interviews this year then I had in the last FIVE.
The point of this post is vote for who fits what you want, your goals and dreams, but make sure that your also looking at the whole picture. Jobs are important, but it took us 8 years to get into the mess Obama has tried to fix it’s not going to be fixed overnight. Think about it this way. If you have to lose 200 pounds and it took you 1 year to gain that weight are you going to then be able to lose that in 6 months? No, not without major surgery. it’s just not going to happen. Things take time and we in the United States need to get over the “I want it NOW!” five year old mentality we seem to have.

So Our Government, The US Government Did Something
- by Holly
About time!
I know many of you are pissed off because you didn’t get your way, the government is still in debt and blah, blah, blah. Here is how I look at it. We have hopefully avoided another great depression, jobs will be saved, your interest rate shouldn’t go up and at least now they have decided to set aside some people, form a committee and hopefully bring down the debt.
For those of you still upset about the debt issue, do you really think they can get us out of debt overnight? Have you looked at that number! It’s going to take time, planning, more time and more planning. Hey your remember that health care bill right, well a lot of that was screwed up, though a lot was good too, because they rushed things. Now we have a substandard bill that really doesn’t help anyone and didn’t fix most of the problems in health care.
The American public in general are impatient dumb asses who only care about “me”. That’s how the world sees us and guess what? Congress just proved that it’s true.

The National Debt
- by Holly
I’m going to try to make this very, very short and sweet, because I really only have one point to make, but I do want to disclose that I am an independent voter and I vote for the person running and not the party.. That said:
Republicans, get your head out of your ass and do something or we the people of the United States will do it for you!
I’m done.

Health Care Repeal and The Truth
- by Holly
I know I have not been very political lately. My life has been in the way, but I have to write something up about this re-vote on health care. I think republicans need to go fuck themselves and leave it alone, better yet, change it so that we have nationwide health care. Why is the US, the so called greatest nation in the world the only modernized country not to offer health care to everyone? Well, I can answer that, we are mostly greedy self centered people who don’t look at the facts but spend too much time listening to what people want us to hear.
Do you know why republicans are against health care? If we had nationwide health care they wouldn’t make millions from insurance companies trying to keep control of congress. That’s really the truth, we don’t have any say, but the money from insurance companies sure does. The insurance companies don’t want to cover your children, they don’t want to pay for your care because that takes away from their profits. Really the insurance companies are just like the banks, greedy scum.
Personally I would love to see universal health care in the US, along with privatized hospitals kind of like they do in Germany. It’s a check and balance, really nothing would change except everyone would have coverage, everyone could get preventative treatment and it would be cheaper for those who are already paying for insurance. Yes, CHEAPER! I know it’s a novel idea, but think about it. Right now you are paying not only for insurance coverage, that could tell you “We won’t cover this” but your paying for the people who work there and for the president’s, CEO’s and others bonuses. Now if the government ran things you would be paying only for your coverage, with no denial and to pay the people who work there. There would be no CEO or president that would require a bonus. That means less money paid in and more money for your house payment or a family vacation.
Really I feel it’s sad that the majority of Americans are stupid. You are, you don’t do research you just listen to the same people who have the same opinions as you do while the rest of the world laughs at us and waits for our downfall. It will happen the US is no longer a super power and really we are just a bunch of pathetic fools clinging to a past that is outdated and will never come back. I do love this country and it’s ideas, but change is needed and change has not happened because people are still clinging to tradition and old ways of doing things. Grow up America and make the changes needed to make our country great again.

Dirty Politics
- by Holly
I know I have not ranted about the upcoming election yet and there is a reason why. I’ve been busy. That’s it, it’s that simple, but after seeing an ad last night I just had to say something. Why does everyone have to be so dirty? They are all attacking each other and not getting what they really want to do across to the American people. I know that here in Michigan the races are nothing compared to other states and I’m already sick and tired of it all. November second can not come soon enough.
I keep hearing from everyone vote republican so that we won’t spend so much, but really I think people need to stop looking at parties and look at people. People will in the end vote for what they want, not what the party wants, at least a good amount of the time. If we started looking at people maybe we would get lawmakers that actually get something done. That is why I am a proud independent. In fact I probably will vote for both republicans and democrats in the upcoming election. I think that is really the way it should be done. Yes voting for a person requires more research and time, but they do make our laws and control our lives in some way so I think the research time is worth it. What about you?

Economy Going To Get Worse or Better?
- by Holly
I was talking about this with my mother today, and she keeps hearing that the economy is going to get worse, that more people are going to lose their homes and that more jobs will be lost.
I think it could happen, but I also think that we do have the power to change that. What do you think? Do you believe that we are heading back into a recession or do you think we are just not out of one yet?

The Oil Spill
- by Holly
Yes, I know I have not written much about this, actually I don’t think I have written anything and it’s not like me to do that. I apologize. I do have to say one thing, I really think this shows how much we need to start looking into other forms of energy. Yes I know it’s easier to just drill, but really we need to look at what we are doing to our world and why.
That said, I believe that all oil companies need to be regulated better, this wouldn’t have happened if they were checked the way they should be. It’s sad what has to happen in order for people to stand up and take notice of what we are doing to our planet.
