People and People

I have a friend that I don’t talk to often. She loves to talk about other people every time I talk to her. Not anything mean, but general things like how she hates it when people do this, or when they do that. She goes on and on and on. Sometimes I wonder when I talk to her if she makes some of this up just so she can talk.

I’m sure I am not the only person with friends like this, do you have a friend that has a weird quirk?

What is Your Passion?

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Haagen Dazs. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am passionate about many things, interior design, writing and cooking just to name a few. I love getting involved in something that will just whisk me away and give me a feeling of pride when it’s all over. Maybe it’s a new recipe that I’ve made up like my feta, chicken and veggie recipe or maybe it’s finally getting that second or third chapter in my book written.

If you love to hear about peoples passions and live in Canada I have a new show for you to watch called Passion Profiles. It’s a show about food and how we can be passionate about what we eat, how we eat it and how we make it. I love food and would love to be a chef though I don’t think I could handle all of the stress, so my home cooking is good for now. I’ll just have to wait and see if I can manage to watch this series since it is an online series I think I can manage that. I really do think this show would be fun to watch and the first show is Food Network TV stars Anna and Michael Olsen so that should be really interesting and a lot of fun to watch.

What about you? What are you passionate about?

Yard Sales Again

Saturday, July 24, 2010 15:10
Posted in category Uncategorized

I had another yard sale this week, is it just me or are less people checking out yard sales. Really I love heading out to sales and if I can find a great deal and help someone get rid of stuff, even better. I found a few things I wanted, helped some people trade items and managed to make about $5 in the process.

One women we talked to thinks that more thrift stores are effecting yard sales. What do you think?

Johnsonville Brats and My Cookout

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Johnsonville Sausage. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love brats, they are yummy, fun and go with just about any food. I love grilling them so that you can have that smokey goodness. I also love having parties with them as most people love brats. Personally I’m all about the cheesy brats and that really is about all I eat. I love having tailgating parties when I’m at an event. Most of the time its NASCAR and it works out great because you can tailgate why you wait for traffic to go away. Of course that is true at any event.

For my tailgating parties I love to have brats, chicken and tons of side dishes like pasta salad, beans, chips and of course you can’t forget the pop, beer and wine coolers. It seems that everyone has their secret recipe for one of these items. My friend uses greek yogurt for her potato salad another uses only home made mayo. For me it doesn’t matter how good the food is, the event is always better when you have great people around you and can enjoy their company.

What about you? How do you party when the big game is over, or when it’s time for that neighborhood cookout? What is your Johnsonville story?

I Hate My Internet Provider

It has taken me over an hour to load the page to post today. I am hoping to contact my internet provider soon about how we should not have to pay for crapy service. I think it would be nice to have at least gotten some sort of phone call or message that something was wrong with the internet and an aproxamate time it would be fixed.

Of course now a days its just too much to ask I think.

The Truth About Your Optometrist

Thursday, July 15, 2010 20:52
Posted in category Rants

I need glasses to see, many people do and until recently it was very expensive to get good glasses. Now there are numerous places to buy eyeglasses like Zenni Optical and really they have a great service. It’s inexpensive and since many people don’t have extra money to spend on this necessity it’s good to have this type of business.

The problem is the optometrist. You know those people charging you $300-$1000 for eyeglasses. Really, they think that we are going to help them buy there Bentley now a days. Really I am so not paying more then I have to for glasses anymore. I’m tired of doctors and their “fees”. I recently as looking at a site where these people had the nerve to say that if I went online for my glasses I was not a customer, and I should be ashamed for buying my eyeglasses online. Well here is a thought, why don’t these optometrist push for universal health care so we can all afford their glasses, oh wait they won’t do that, that would also mean there prices would be regulated, no more Bentley for them.

I think I’ll just stick to getting my exams at my local walmart, as they have been very helpful in giving me my information and order my glasses online. I usually buy my contacts with them so at least they have the exam fee and money from the contacts. These other optometrist need to get a life and a new business model. Though many of them do seem so against it.

Weird People

Thursday, July 15, 2010 18:04
Posted in category Rants

I was out with a friend last night and I just started to realize that people are weird. We all are, we act the way others want us too, but sometimes that behavior is weird in itself. One guy mentioned that he can’t go to other places because someone always wants to pick a fight. A women ran around trying to get everyone in the room to talk to her for a bet and another girl just sat at the corner of the room glaring at people.

Do you think people are weird?
