Car Trouble Again

Posted by Holly on Nov 23, 2008 under Uncategorized

So my car has been acting up like crazy and I think it’s going to die if I drive it even 2 more feet. I for now am borrowing my mothers car to get to class, but we can’t do that again come next term. I’m hopeing it’s not as bad as I think and is under $300 to fix, if not I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do, probably go without health insurance and all that fun stuff. This could get interesting.

Strange Dreams And Future Plans

Posted by Holly on Nov 23, 2008 under personal

Yesterday I was thinking about my life after I graduate and I got scared. I couldn’t picture anything. Not even the same thing I’m doing now. It was just black and nothing. Yes I’m sure it’s because I’m worried with the economy and trying to pay off those loans once I’m done since it’s probably going to take me a while to find work.

Last night though I had a strange dream where I decided, because I couldn’t find work to go back to school for web design, something else I have been thinking about. I was able to take the classes online so I didn’t have to worry about what would happen when/if I did find a job. The weird part was that I pictured myself living in some tropical place with a ton of money. I normally do not have dreams like this, usually they are about places I have been and things that could actually happen. I did like the idea though, maybe I’ll finally get lucky.

Do Your Holiday Shopping With Kmart

Posted by Holly on Nov 22, 2008 under Christmas shopping

I love going to Kmart. They have some great things and it’s affordable. I don’t get there much as there is not one very close to me. I usually stop if I have time when I go to class. I was thinking of checking them out to see what I can get some people for Christmas, but I now have decided I am going to order online, maybe you should too.

Here is why: Kmart is having a huge online sale where you get 10% off items in the following categories;

- womens plus sleepwear
- womens attention brand
- girls tops
- ALL juniors
- boys tops
- mens shirts and bottoms
- big mens shirts and bottoms
- infant and toddler bedding

The downside to this is that it only is available online though November 26th. These are also the only departments that are doing this, but if you shop around the site you can find ornaments that will give you an extra discount, these will be available till Christmas. I love this idea it’s kind of like a fun game that will save you money. Okay so I’m just into the whole treasure hunting thing and I get a kick out if this. Who wouldn’t though if you could save some more on your Holiday shopping?

Just One Of Those Days

Posted by Holly on Nov 22, 2008 under personal

I’m still not feeling the best though I am trying to get things done today, it just has not worked out to my advantage. I was going to clean but I can’t stand up for more then 20 minutes at a time and I need more time then that to do anything.

I’m also screwing everything up today. Nothing seems to be going right. I’m hoping at least one thing does and I get my new paypal card in the mail. I need food and medication and I can’t get to my money!
Okay I’m done now, back to attempting to find my floor.

Give Needing Children A Christmas

Posted by Holly on Nov 22, 2008 under charity

Around the world there are many areas that need help, some are wanting food, some education, most though need everything. In a community called Payatas in the Philippians they really deserve some much needed help. I was reading about their life and I have to say it’s something I could never imagine doing.

Everyday they go though a huge mountain of garbage to find things to sell for food. This is not just children but whole family’s hoping to find enough sellable items to get food for just that day. These people don’t have the opportunity to do much else, but with help from outside people maybe they can have a chance. Read though the following press release and find out how you can give a Christmas For Payatas. Also after reading though this check out the you tube video about Christmas for Payatas.

The landfill in Payatas, The Philippines, is notoriously known the world over as Smokey Mountain. For over 35 years, the smoking dump site has grown to become a stark and heart-tugging reminder of the desperate conditions of humanity.

On a daily basis, children pick through newly arrived garbage to
collect material to sell. The earnings made by one child are not enough to even buy food for the day. Hence, entire families are forced to climb the mountain each day, hoping to earn enough to feed everyone. Children as young as four years old are forced to work in this daily struggle for survival.

In response to the plight of these children, Totedaddy.com is working with Lighthouse Center For Children Foundation to bring a little cheer to the children this Christmas.

Totedaddy.com has kicked off with a cash sponsorship of USD 10,000 to enable the children to celebrate Christmas. FusionExcel International has also pitched in a USD 5,000 in cash sponsorship. The money raised
will help fund the projects already in place, and help fund additional projects aimed at providing better housing, and a means of livelihood for the Payatas community.

It is hoped that by creating better awareness to the plight of these children, more support can be garnered towards their betterment. Together we can bury poverty!

Life And People

Posted by Holly on Nov 22, 2008 under Uncategorized

Yesterday I was not feeling well. I’m not sure what it could have been because I also just started a new medication. I had plans to meet an old friend of mine for dinner, but because I felt so horrible I didn’t go. I called an hour early to cancel but ended up leaving a voice mail.

She called me back just a few minutes ago, keep in mind the next day and yelled at me because I stood her up and she ended up paying for dinner by calling her mom to come give her money. Now here was the deal, she asked me to go and told me it was her treat.  I’m thinking maybe it’s a good thing I didn’t go. I would have been stuck doing dishes or something.

Anyway she ended up telling me that I was a horrible friend to fake being sick and that she never wants to see me again. Now that is fine with me. I had been avoiding her anyway because of how she acted. I had decided to give her a second chance to see if she had changed over the last 2 years. Apparently not. I just don’t get how people can act that way. I don’t think she was that worried about me, because she called the next morning. Anyone else have friends like this, or are these types of people just drawn to me.

Chirstmas Shopping For My Brother

Posted by Holly on Nov 21, 2008 under Christmas shopping

I have been trying so hard to figure out something to get my little brother for Christmas. It wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t want all of the expensive things in life! Of course the other day he did say he thought it would be cool if we went into a depression, so maybe he doesn’t want anything for Christmas then right? A girl can hope, but I don’t think he thought that comment though, so I have been looking around a lot at what is for sale online and in the stores and I’m not finding a whole lot, so this morning I decided to check my favorite site, buy.com and see if they had anything.

I did find something that may be useful to him and his friends it’s a two way radio for when they head out into the woods behind our home. His friends all have cell phones, but my mom won’t let him have one until he either gets a car and a job or when he’s 18. I think it would be a great gift for him and at the same time it would be something very useful. I am trying very hard this year to get things that are useful to everyone, not just nice frilly stuff. So far I’m doing a good job, we’ll have to see how long that last.
