Unstressing And Money

Posted by Holly on Oct 25, 2008 under Uncategorized

I have decided that as soon as I am done writing this post I am stepping away from the computer and reading a book. Yes it is a book I have read already, but I have no new ones. I will be going to the library and checking out a few after November 4th when my math class ends.

Wish me luck with this as I am very stressed about money and have been obsessed with the computer for oh the last year and a half. I always seem to want to come back and see if I have anything available to write about, or something to do that will make me more money. It wouldn’t be so bad if I were making a few thousand a month, but I’m not so I obsess, okay I’m done now and off to my book. Anyone have any suggestions for me when I go to the library? I like history and mystery type books, and romance and vampires. yes I’m weird.

Reading To Improve Your Mind

It’s said that people who read a lot may avoid having memory loss as they get older. So I have decided that I really need to get back into reading. I use to read all of the time. I would read books over and over, now though I find that I want to read new things so I think it’s time to place a large order of Amazon books since I have read almost everything I want to read in our local library, its not very big.

Reading though I think is good for everyone to get into I know many people don’t like it because they can’t read well, but like anything else practice makes it easier. Reading even comic books or magazines are a great way to start. You don’t have to read a huge book to get the benefits of reading. I figure even a daily reading of the newspaper should be enough to help hold off memory loss. I figure what is picking up a book going to hurt?

Monthly reading.

After participating in Earth Hour I decided that I would sit and read more. I was trying to think of a book to read when I saw The Appeal by John Grisham at the store. I haven’t picked it up yet. I didn’t have the money to do so at the time, but I think that will be the book I get. I love his books, they are well written and always have a great twist at the end. They are also realistic so they make sense to me and I can really get into them. I also like fantasy but it really has to be good for me to get into it.

I’m excited about doing this. I felt so relaxed after reading for that one hour that I kept going. I think it’s something I need to start doing. I may end up going to the library for the next book though, I just don’t have room for a bunch of books right now.

A long uneventful day

Posted by Holly on Mar 27, 2008 under personal

I have been waiting all day to see if I get paid early so that I can go out and pay a bill and get a few food items and my medication. So far no luck, I’m sure it will happen at about PM tonight after everything is closed and I can’t do anything. Well yes I could still get food, but it’s a few miles into town and a waste of gas for me to go for just that.

Now that I’m done with my classes until this coming Tuesday, I have nothing to do to entertain me during the slow times. I spent two hours online trying to find some paid work to do. No luck, I missed the good stuff or people don’t’ like me. I’m starting to think it’s the second one!

I decided I needed to write something. I tried working on my book, but I just couldn’t get it the way I wanted to. I think my idea may have to be thrown out and I’ll wait for something else. I have a headache now because I’m frustrated with myself. I hate writers block.

So anyway that was my day, how was yours?
