I had a weird set of events this week. I decided that I was going to read, so I picked up a really good book of fiction the The Da Vinci Code and started reading. Keep in mind this is the 5th time I have read it. So yesterday I sit down and what is on the history channel, another favorite of mine, but shows about the book.

This is a very controversial book and I understand why. It changes everyones thinking, but we do have to remember it is a work of fiction. Having said that. What would be so bad about Jesus being married. Personally I think it would be cool and would actually fit in with the times. Jews married, that was the point of living, get married have kids populate the world. I’m not saying I believe it actually did occur, I need more proof for that, but at the same time I have always said the bible is written by men, god did not send us the bible. He may have spoken to people, but man decided what went into it.

So who is to say they didn’t want to keep it a secret that Jesus was married? They may have they may not have. We don’t know, but what we do know is that the customs of the day show it is possible. As I said I think it would be cool and it would make him seem not so out of reach of society. Right now I know many who are atheist who have told me the reason they are is that they don’t believe in Jesus, they do think there could be a god figure. The problem with Jesus is, he’s too perfect, it’s not possible to be that perfect.

They also go on to tell me that they feel they need to be a perfect person to be in any religion, this is why I have said before that extreme Christan’s need to shut up and leave these people be. They do drive them away. But with these new theories people are asking questions. It does make me wonder if the Apocalypse is just a change in thinking and that maybe we will learn a truth or two. If it’s that Jesus was married so be it, but it could also be something else. There are endless possibilities.
