I was talking with someone today who was thinking about donating their truck so that someone who really needs it could use it. They want to buy a new car so that they can save on gas. They know the bill is going to be higher as they own the truck, but things are going wrong with it and many places you donate autos to will fix them and then hand them out.

I wrote way back in December about donating a car to a charity called Car Angel. I referred this person to that post and they have decided that it will work very well for them. They had no idea that a program like this existed and they were very happy to try to help out.

I’m happy to see people thinking like this. Not only does it give you a tax write off, but your helping someone. In this case this person would only have gotten about $500 for the trade in anyway so helping someone by donating a truck seemed like the right thing to do.

There are many charity’s out there today. They want your money, and they want alot of it. There is one charity that doesn’t want your money, they want your car, truck, boat or lawn mower. Car Angel then takes those and turns it into funding for different causes, like helping people in poor country’s. Helping men and women in prison to get an educating so that they may have a chance to change. They also make videos like the following for people around the world.

Car donation is easy and the best part is the car does not even have to run. I just killed my car and if I end up getting a new one I will be donating it to this cause. Car Angel help so many people world wide and we as Americans need to realize how much we waste and throw away that other people could use.

So in this time where we ourselves are unsure of where the economy will be, think about how bad other countries have it, then go take a look in that garage of yours and see what you could donate that you don’t use anymore. Then you can have that wonderful feeling when you know that you helped someone learn to read, eat food for the first time in 6 days or give someone a chance at life.
