It seems that every year schools do the same fundraisers. My niece goes to one school and my cousin goes to another but they both came back with the same fundraiser. Candy bars and other sweets to sell to everyone. The problem is I’m diabetic. I can’t have all of those nice sweets. Not buying them makes me feel like a bad cousin and a horrible aunt!

The worst part is both of them also do summer sports, guess what the fundraiser for those are? Yep the same candy and sweets fundraiser from school. When I was in school we did those too. We also did a few others, we sold notebooks, flowers and other non food items. We came up with some really good ideas for our class to do, but the athletic director stole them and gave them to the football team to do. The losing, horrible will never win a game football team on top of it.

Shoutback.com has come up with another way to do fund raising that is a little more fun and can get anyone anywhere involved. So lets say grandma lives in Florida and you live in Ohio. She can get online, join your group and help your cause. Right from her own home. It can also help get member of the community involved by giving people who maybe can’t get to other types of fundraisers a way to give something to a cause or school.

I also like that you can sell anything, so you are not just stuck selling candy, you can sell so much more. You could have parents donate items that they don’t want anymore and sell them in an auction. The kids can help get them ready to ship to there destination. I love the idea of this site, it’s a great way to get families that don’t live close together involved in fundraisers.
