Over the weekend I was working hard doing an audit. It happened to be at a movie theater so I got to see some interesting things. One thing I noticed was actually 2 young girls in the bathroom. This sounds weird I know, but here is the story.

I had just finished washing my hands when two young girls about 9-12 walked in. The immediately started looking in the mirror and playing with their hair. One girl looked at the other and said “you look fat.” the other went. “What! do I?” Then she proceeded to look at herself even more. Both girls continued to fix their hair and look in the mirror. As I walked out I heard one girl say “I hope I’m never as fat as her.” Now I hope she’s never as big as I am, but you still wonder about girls that age when they say things like they said. What is happening to them. I’m sorry at that age you should be excited to see a movie, not worrying about if your fat or not. I blame parents and TV. That it. Some parents don’t even realize they are doing this to their young girls, but I know girls that age copy what they see around them.

I am wondering though is this normal? I’m I just completely out of the loop when it comes to that age and their looks? My nice is just a little younger and she’s a bigger girl. Not really fat, just big. I worry she’s going to have issues with girls like this.
