Buy Green and Love What You Get
- by Holly
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Buy Green Products. All opinions are 100% mine.
Going Green is a huge deal right now. I talk a lot about green products on this blog and other blogs I own. I try to give you as much information as possible but I can’t tell you about everything, so I thought that letting you know about a great site where you can find information on green products is something many of you may be interested in. Buy Green Products is a website where you can find places to buy green products, coupons for green products and find out about renewable events.

One thing I love about this site is that you can search green products by price, percentage off and deals. They even have a daily deal. The site itself is also very easy to use and of course it’s green, literally green and I love it as it just fits the theme. Another great feature of this site is that their are videos about green products so you can watch and figure out if that product is right for you.
I’m bookmarking this site because I love the information on it and the green news section has a pretty cool product that you should check out, no I’m not telling you what it is, check out the site if you want to know more.

Sustainable Saturday Reuse
- by Holly
I have decided to change going green Monday to Sustainable Saturday. This phrase describes what I talk about much better then going green does. Sustainable is doing or making something that is going to be good for everyone, the environment and should be able to last for a while.
This Sustainable Saturday is about reusing things. It’s going to be short and sweet as I want you to be inspired, not just get ideas. Something fun I have found while searching online is reusing old gutters to make a garden. I’m thinking of seeing if my mother who is almost 60 would want to do this as it would be easier for her to reach things as she gets older.
Another good reuse is takeing plastic bags from the grocery store and using them for trash bags. My family has done this for a while, but if you don’t, you should. Yes you should be using reusable bags but even I know that you can not always have that bag with you.
Another thing that you can reuse is your junk mail. Use it for packaging, scrap paper and more.
What do you reuse?

Going Green Monday; Radiant Glass
- by Holly
Radiant glass was a product I did some research on for my interior design blog. I decided that the product was so environmentally friendly that I had to share it on this blog for going green Monday. Radiant Glass is glass that has be manufactured with an electric current going though it. The power that is run is the equivalent of running two light bulbs and in most cases a few pains of this glass will heat or cool your entire home year around.
Radiant Glass Industries makes this product and it really works well. Many users have claimed that they almost never run their heater and instead of feeling hot or cold next to a window it’s usually the best place to be. The glass is also fog resistant so that you can see out of it year around also. A great addition to any home that has an amazing view.

Gas and money and more
- by Holly
I am really getting tired of watching the gas prices go up. Since my car broke down in December I have been using my mom’s trail blazer to go to class and now back and forth to the hospital. It’s cost about 70 to fill it! I’m going broke just to get to class. I will be so happy next month when I can get a small car.
The fun part with that is now the prices on these nice small cars are going up. I have the worst luck in the world I swear. Every time I need something I have to pay more or do more to get it. Usually I just don’t worry about having whatever it is I need at that point. This time I can’t do that. I really wanted to be able to get a new car that could run on e85 as we have a station a half hour from us, but last week I finished a report on ethanol that I will put up for going green Monday next week. it was very interesting and I think we still have a ways to go before ethanol becomes a great solution.

Going Green Monday: Concrete flooring
- by Holly
Concrete flooring no longer has that dull effect that reminds you of a grocery store, warehouse or a parking structure. Concrete flooring has come a long way. Now you can get concrete in a variety of finishes and colors. It can be made to look like stone, brick or any other strange creation you can come up with.
You can also die it any color so if you like blue with pink and purple stripes for your living room floor concrete may be something for you. I personal like how it can change with a room in a way that will bring them together in a great flowing way.
The best part about using concrete for flooring and other things in your home is that it is great for the environment. Here are some statistics taken from concreatenetwork.com
This is something that can be helped, with the use of concrete to build your home and your floors you can help keep more trees from being cut down for home use.

Going Green Monday: Fuel Cells
- by Holly
Is this the way of the future: A cell that is powered with hydrogen and oxygen that will produce electricity like a battery, but never die. I hope so. This technology is called a fuel cell and it runs clean and quiet.
These fuel cells can be used to power anything from your laptop to your mp3 player. You probably have heard about them being used in cars to replace our engines. There are a few cars that already run on fuel cells, Honda has one, and so does Chevrolet. Fuel cells can also be used to help provide power in remote places, since they can be left alone without worry.
The following is taken from the website Fuel Cells 2000, You can get more information about fuel cells there.
A fuel cell is an electrochemical device that combines hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity, with water and heat as its by-product. As long as fuel is supplied, the fuel cell will continue to generate power. Since the conversion of the fuel to energy takes place via an electrochemical process, not combustion, the process is clean, quiet and highly efficient – two to three times more efficient than fuel burning.
