Why I’m Switching From Google To Yahoo
- by Holly
I have just started my masters degree this year and I have been doing a lot of research. I have found that Google no longer is as great as it use to be. In fact am not impressed at all with their new search. Not only does it come up with crap now, but it’s hard to use if you have a slow connection.
I have decided to go back to yahoo, the site I used when I was going to school as an undergrad. Not only do I find what I’m looking for, the sites are not crap and yahoo is very easy to use with a slow connection. Though for me right now that is not a problem.
Google was once a good search, but it seems that Google is so worried about everything else and what everyone else is doing that they forgot something important, real people use their search and maybe they need to concentrate more on how that works and less on everything else.
What are your feelings on the new Google search?

Makeing Money Online
- by Holly
I have been working online for about 3 years now. I enjoy my work and love how I can paid to blog. There are many sites available where you can find paid blogging opportunities and a lot of blogs that tell you how you can make money blogging. You do want to check these out as they do contain information that you will need, even if it’s information telling you what not to do.
I have to say most people don’t make much. This is very true now with the economy, but the big reason that people don’t make much is that they don’t want to put the work into a blog. They feel that if they stick up 3 or 4 post they will be found on the internet. That really is not true and even though I am not a big time blogger I have figured out you need to work to get where you want to be. I am still working.
If you search “how to be a successful blogger” on Google you get a ton of information about being a good blogger. Some of it works and some of it does not. Honestly it all depends on you, what your blogging about and how much work you put into it. Sometimes I need to remind myself of this fact and get my butt back to work.
That is why I am always working on my blogging and writing about it on this blog. It’s my job and it is a lot of work. I love doing it. I get some flexibility in my schedule and I have met so many interesting people online. One day I hope to meet them in person, but I haven’t been able to yet. It’s a fun world when you blog. Really the sky is the limit and you really can learn a lot about yourself when you blog.

Advertising My Blog
- by Holly
I have been working on trying to get more advertising for all of my blogs. I have been doing very well with my shopping blog and okay with my home decor blog. This one I don’t worry much about as it’s for me really. I still do want to try to do something. I have tried artical marketing with some success, but I also am thinking about doing some advertising for my blogs on Google, yes I know I’m not a huge fan, but it seems that everyone else I know is obsessed with Google, so I will use them to advertise.
I have used Google in the past without much luck, but this time I plan on doing a lot of research so that i get the best value for my money. It’s been a long time since I advertised and I have learned a lot over the last few years. What I am hopeing is that some of what I have learned will help me to get traffic and readers to my blog. That of course is the most important thing.
One big thing I have learned is that I need to update much more then I have been. The first year I started blogging I updated at least two times a day. I had some traffic, but I didn’t have the money to cash in on my daily updates. Now I still don’t have the money, but I now know a few people willing to help me out a little, it’s not much, but it will help. I’m also going to try to keep updating daily on all 3 of my blogs. This is apparently the trick to Google. Update and make sure the content is worth reading.

Google Could Help The Recession
- by Holly
Okay I just woke up and I had this strange dream that I had to share with you. It was about Google and how they helped to stop the recession. How did they do it, simple they gave everyone their pr back until the end of December. Giving people their PR back let them earn more money, which went back into the economy in the form of Christmas and other holiday shopping! How smart would that be? Now I’m not saying that we would ever see this from almighty Google, but hey it was a very nice dream.
I know I would be buying a few things if I could make a thousand a month, one being a new TV, this is for me as mine is going to die when everything switches over, if it physically makes it that long. Other then that I would pay down more on my debt and spend more on Christmas presents. What would you do with another thousand a month?

Life Is Always Full Of Issues
- by Holly
I’m still working on trying to pass this math class, I hate it and my head now hurts after trying to do this. Maybe I am just really dumb and never figured it out. I don’t know. It just seems like I try and try but still just can’t do well enough. I know I will probably have to take it again, but unless I can move I have to take it online. I just don’t know if I can pass it that way, or in a class room for that matter.
On top of that I don’t even think I will have enough money to get to class next month. I may have to skip a day, which stinks, but it’s not like I have a shot at a 4.0 or anything. I’m just not sure what class to skip and if I’ll have to skip more then one.
I’m still trying to decide what to do with my blogs, on one hand I do make my money blogging for pay, on the other I’m not making anything because Google decided to hit the small guy and not the big guy. I’ll figure out something, I could still always sell myself on a street corner right?

Review Me Bull Crap
- by Holly
I was at one point a member of review me. Now I can’t get any blog listed with them. I think someone is selling only page rank and if you don’t have it your not accepted. Why is it that Google doesn’t go after their blogs? Oh it’s because they only have crap spam blogs and Google loves those! At least from what I have seen. I’m sure there are a few good ones, but not many.
Once again I am going to give up on them and go on my way, I figured now that I was getting more traffic maybe it would be okay, but I’m sure they are only accepting pr 7 and above or blogs that spam all over the place and only talk about porn.
Anyway my rant is over. I’m sorry if you do have a good blog and are with them, again not talking about your blog.
**** Update, I wrote support again and this time actually got a response. They have accepted my blogs into their system. Hopefully they look into the glitch that doesn’t let you resubmit and doesn’t tell them to check the blog out to see if it qualifies yet.

What Are Advertisers Thinking!
- by Holly
I got an email from a paid to blog site I have started using and I couldn’t believe what I read for this one opportunity. They were only paying $2 of which you get a percentage and wanted only PR 2 Blogs and above on their own domain. Seriously they are either going to get junk or no one, but these are the advertisers that think Page Rank actually means something. The ones that would rather see their pr increase instead of their traffic and sales. See everyone says Google has issues with paid links. But they don’t, they have an issues with do follow paid links. I know this, this blog is proof that they don’t like it. I was a pr 2. Now I’m a pr 0. I don’t care I keep going. I’m finding the PR requirements to be very annoying as PR does not show the worth of a blog. If it did big advertisers would pay much more attention to that then to what traffic a blog gets and how many readers they have.
Anyway here is my question if you had a pr 2 blog, did paid posting and paid to host your own blog would you do a 3 link 200 word opp for about a dollar. I know I wouldn’t.
