I’m lucky right now, no one would want to steal my credit info, it’s not useful. I have so much debt and no job so my credit is save for now, but that doesn’t mean that my Identity is save. Not everyone is after your money, some people just don’t want others knowing who they are or what they are doing. Other people may commit a crime and want it to be traced to someone else, that someone else could end up being you.

That is why you need a service like lifelock or another company that will educate you on what you need to do if your identity is stolen. Its not a fun thing at all trust me. I know someone who went though it. They had to get a new social security number, id and everything. They now have no credit history except for one credit card that allowed them to transfer everything over. they were helpful, but many companies are not. I have learned a ton from this persons problems. One is watch what you tell people online, watch what information you give out and don’t trust anyone, even someone trying to hire you for a job. That is how the person I know got her identity stolen.

Identity theft is a big deal right now. The economy sucks, and people will do anything to get money. Just yesterday someone my sister knows was in an accident and the people kept trying to say they were really hurt. The paramedics didn’t find anything wrong with them, but they still insisted on going to the hospital. This poor girl is worried they will sue her.

Because of all of these problems you want to make sure your identity is safe using a service like life lock is a great way to make sure your identity stays yours. That way you can do what you need to do in these hard times.

A few years ago I had good credit and was working and happy. I didn’t have great credit as I was only 22 and had only had a credit card for about 2 years, but I was well on my way. I checked my credit report once a month and had a service that gave me updates on it. I still use a service to get my report monthly and I check it every month as I’m trying to fix my credit now.

Something I found very interesting was an article I had read about a year ago. It talked about how credit reporting companies don’t’ care about you or your score, they are only there to get information and sell it to the highest bidder. I then realized how I kept getting offers for credit cards and things that I would never qualify for. My information was sold to whoever had the most money. Was I okay with that not really, but what could I do? Well their are a few services out there, one is life lock. They claim to be able to keep people from stealing your identity and make it harder for the credit bureaus to sell your information. If this really works I don’t know, I have never tried it. Recently though an article came to my attention about experian suing life lock because of the service they provide. From what I saw from the article it seems that life locks services do work and do the job well. I personally don’t trust the credit bureaus and this lawsuit seems to all come down to money and the fact that life locks services are causing the credit bureaus to lose money since they can’t sell your information as easily as they once could. Of course most law suits involve money in one way or another, right?
