My mother rents a home. She loves doing it and I love that she has been able to make it succeed. It was out of necessity as she had a new home built just before all of this mortgage mess and the economy going crazy. Actually it was about 2 years before that, but Michigan’s economy has been bad since then, it didn’t start with the housing market like the rest of the country did.

Anyway she just called to see about refinancing the house to put on a new roof, because it needs it. They won’t do it because that house is not worth it. It sucks, because she may have to unload it at a very cheep price now. Hopefully she can do something about it and not worry anymore. There are so many other problems we are having right now and this is something that she shouldn’t have to worry about.

Because the school has decided once again to screw me over I may not be able to buy my house unless I come up with the $21,000 myself. Now that may not seem like a lot to some of you, but for me it’s a ton of money. I talked to two mortgage lenders who both told me that even if I pay off my debt this month. It won’t help my credit for at least 6 months.

It just seems so unfair. I’m going to try to pay off everything anyway as I watch my credit closely and if I notice the points go up I’m applying anyway. I just wish that the system could give people trying a chance, no they help the ones who are in thousands of dollars of credit card debt who will just get more credit cards and go farther into debt. Maybe I’ll get lucky and win the lottery!

Today I called my insurance company to find out if I had coverage for a full cranial prosthesis, pretty much a very nice expensive wig. I have to wear one as I have scarring alopecia and really don’t have a choice if I want to go out in public without people staring or getting grossed out. I should have known better then to get my hopes up. Once again I wanted something and now I can’t have it. They told me it’s not covered.

I had also decided a yesterday that I would pay off some bill instead of get a laptop. Well my computer once again reminded me why I need one as it crashed yet again because of the bad video card. Unfortunately I can’t take out the card as then the computer does not run well at all, pretty much no internet for me if I remove the card.

So now I’m back to getting the laptop, that yes I still want, but I want the house more, I can’t get the house unless I can improve my credit score. The score that was okay 2 days before I called on the mortgage, but spiraled downward when I tried to apply. Apparently they have updated the scoring method because nothing has changed on any of my reports.

I’m thinking it’s time to give up and realize I will be paying almost $600-800 a month to get to school as I can’t even rent a place because of my credit. I just don’t understand how that works I can pay that much to get to school, but I can’t pay a $200 mortgage? I guess it’s just time to give up on everything, I may even have to quit school. How fun is that?

I know getting a mortgage takes a while. But I really want this house and I don’t even know if I’m approved for anything. I got a number for a lady from a friend and called yesterday. I’m hoping she calls today. I guess I’m still just worried someone is going to take it and I’ll lose. I’m thinking though I may try to get the loan as an investment loan. I don’t plan on living there for more then 2 years and I’m open to renting it. I’m still not sure if that will help me any though. The Realtor thinks it might.

I guess I’m just impatient. I didn’t think I would find one I liked this quick or one that would be this close to a friend of mine who is closing on her house this coming week. She’s right across the street from this house. So it would be perfect for me and for when I rent. It just seems that whenever I want something like this I can’t have it. I’m really getting tired of it, but hopefully this will work out.

I found I house I really like it’s cheep, $21,000 and has hardwood floors. I know just have to hope I can get a mortgage for it or I lose and I’ll be forced to rent. I hate it because I know they don’t care that I will be paying 3 times the amount of the mortgage for rent. They may just assume I can’t afford a home.

I guess I’ll just have to see. I’m worried that someone else is going to come steel it while I’m gone. I’m sure many people could get approved for a loan in a day and run off with the house on me. Hopefully things work out and everything is okay. Wish me luck.

Not only am I moving my my sisters are still on a hunt for a new home themselves. They thought have hit a snag. They have to find a new Mortgage Lender since they now also have to have a lawyer involved since the two buying the home are not married or related to each other in any way. This makes sense to me since any of the 4 could walk away at any time and leave the rest of them screwed. The two boys could also sell the home out from under my sisters if they wanted to also, that there is still nothing they can do about as they will have no owning interest in the home.

I tried to tell them there would be a lot more to it then just walking into a bank and getting a loan. They also now have to come up with a down payment since they are switching lenders. They didn’t need one before because of the bank they were using. I think some of this also has to do with a crackdown on bad lending practices and the mortgage mess. At least things are changing even if it makes it harder for them. I look at it this way, if they can’t afford it they probably won’t be able to do it now, a good thing being thats what brought on this whole mess in the first place, people couldn’t actually afford what they were buying.

My little sisters and their boyfriends live together in an apartment right now, they have 3 dogs and a cat and are really looking for a home. They wanted to make sure they could actually afford one so they decided to look up what their expenses might be. They found out about how much they might pay each month for the mortgage and got home insurance quotes. They also got information on electric and other monthly bills from my one sisters boyfriend who has a house near here that he got when his mother passed. They can’t move into that one as it’s a 2 hour drive to school for 3 of them if they did that.

They think they can afford it, but they are also thinking about moving to another state in 2 years. I told them if they do buy a home get one that can be fixed up so they can sell it for a profit if the housing market gets better. I hope by then it is.
