I Still Don’t Get It
- by Holly
I was watching the news last night and saw that McCain is leading in the polls. Okay he’s got a lead good for him, well mostly good for Palin because I once again talked to a women online last night who said she is voting for anyone but Obama, because Hillary didn’t win and it’s likely McCain won’t last though the term.
I couldn’t believe she said that, not only does she not care about the issues, she hopes McCain dies so a women is in the white house? I’m at a loss for words here. I guess this is what it has come down to for some people. They don’t care about the future of the country except that there is a women in the white house.
These are the people that drive me crazy, the ones that don’t seem to listen to what the candidates say, they just see what they look like or their gender and go that way. That is no way to vote and really I hate to say it, I would rather just see them all stay home.
I don’t really care who people vote for as long as they vote for the right reasons. Even friends of Palin have not made up their minds who they are going to vote for as they disagree with some of her or McCain’s views. We need to stop looking at who has the experience and who would look better or what their gender is and look at the issues.
Here are my feelings and if you disagree feel free to Politely state your side.
Right now the economy sucks and giving tax breaks to the rich is not going to help. Why? because even with their tax breaks they have stopped spending money on some things. The rich are rich for a reason, unless they win the lottery, they are good with money. They know when to spend and when not to. They can afford to cut back as they can buy food and clothing, even overseas if they want to. If you then drop down to the middle and lower class, they spend all of their money on food, clothing and all of that, they boost the economy because they can’t buy out of the country, they buy at wal-mart, sears, JcPenny or other department store. The middle class needs the tax break to have that extra to spend.
The other argument people have is that in order to get investments and businesses going we have to give tax cuts to the rich. Again, remember they already have the tax cuts, they are not investing it because interest rates are too high. Also if you look at the business world now, people in the middle and lower class are starting to take risk and start their own business. Many are doing this online because it cost almost nothing to start. If you don’t have any money you start small. I started small. I got a free blog on blogger and went from there. My start up cost was zero!
You can do with this many types of business. Start by using eBay, yes you pay fees, but you don’t have to worry about setting up a store or anything. It’s also not that expensive to start up a website, say you like making candles. You can sell those online, you can even use blogger to sell them and not pay anything!
If you look at it this way you see that McCain’s tax cuts just will not work in this new age of business that is starting, We need a fresh thinker who has been in our shoes, who has lived off of welfare and knows how the system really works. If you have never been on it, you don’t know.
There are other issues too, but this is getting long already so I’ll leave you with this. What are your thoughts?
