I love looking at sites online and finding all of these cool things that I could buy for people that I know. I love it because i don’t have sales people making me feel like I have to leave the store if I don’t buy anything. I also like it because I can bookmark the site and come back to buy the item later when I have the money. Recently I did a search for watches as I know my little brother needs one and was thinking of getting him one for Christmas.

I found some great Breitling watches at thewatchery.com that really are not horribly priced as I don’t have a lot to spend on gifts. They do have some very expensive, but useful watches such as their breitling emergency watches that have a ton of extra features for emergencies. These watches are made mostly for pilots and air crews that may have an emergency situation where they need a built in transmitter. I still think it’s kind of cool, but will not spend and don’t have the $4000 to buy it. I know my brother would think it was cool, but he can save up for that one himself. I’m still not sure I’m buying him a watch, but I have time to think about it, Christmas is still 3 months away.

I love looking at watches, I don’t know why I just do. It doesn’t matter what kind of watch Tag Heuer watches from thewatchery.com or the cheap watches from walmart. I don’t know why I have this strange obsession with them but I do. I seem to find a watch to match every outfit I own and then some. I also find watches for other people and have to keep myself from buying one.

I think this goes back to my father who always carried a pocket watch. I loved looking at it and checking out each new one he bought. Now that he is gone I think that is a way I can still connect with him. That and I have a huge love of shiny things that I just can not get away from. I don’t have a huge preference when it comes to shiny things, jewelry, glass and other shiny objects always seem to catch my eye but it seems like a watch I am drawn to like most women are drawn to diamonds. It’s kind of weird I think. I mean here I am at 10 o’clock at night talking about Tag Heuer watches and my love of shiny things when I should be getting to bed as I think I’m coming down with a cold.

I’m starting to wonder if anyone wears a watch anymore. Today in the store we kept having people ask me what time it is. I wear a watch but it seems I’m one of a few. The surprising thing is that some of them were older people. I’ve noticed this issue in other places. School being one where the student relied on the bell tower to tell them if they were late for class. I know most students are horrible with time anyway, but a few learned their lesson when the bell tower stopped working one day. I found it funny, others did not. That could be because it was during exam week.

It’s not hard to get a watch I have seen some great jewelry watches that are not that expensive some websites will even give you a free watch with any purchase. I also have found some nice TAG Heuer watches that cost more but look good. I think though that many people use their cell phones or rely on everyone else to tell time. Maybe it’s just me, but if I see a person wearing a watch I think that is someone who cares about where they are going and when they get there.

I have a huge problem this year, I keep loseing my sunglasses. I lost the first pair at school. I think they were stolen, the second pair I lost in a friends yard and I ran over them leaving and the third I lost to one of my little brothers friends, I think.

So I am really excited to find a site that has free sunglasses and sunglasses accessories. All I have to pay is shipping and if I order 4 or more I get a free watch. I love that idea and with the trouble I am haveing I think I could use 4 pairs of sunglasses. The site isn’t too bad either. They have a great set up that looks amazing and really fits with the theme of the site. Ordering is easy and the shipping is not bad considering how much some of these sunglasses actually cost. I can’t order today, but I will be soon. I need sunglasses I drive to much to not have them.

As you know, if you read my last post, I had my presentation speaking class yesterday. One of the speeches was about cancer insurance and every time I hear the word cancer I think of my dad. He died from Colon cancer. It’s still very hard to think about it, I was 21 when he died and it was a huge ordeal and something I don’t’ want any young person to go though, even though I know they do and some much younger then I was.

During the drive home I kept thinking about how my dad always had a pocket watch. he loved having one and never wore an actual watch. My sister still has it somewhere, I’m not sure where. It made me smile thinking about it. Losing someone is so hard and really can have a huge effect on the rest of your life. Even my niece who was 4 when my father passed is still effected, there have been a few times where she will say she misses grandpa. Sometimes you smile when she says it, sometimes it just puts a small knot in your stomach. People say it will get better with time, but I haven’t seen too much improvement yet.

Today on my trip to help my friend I broke my only watch, now I’m sitting at the school waiting for my meeting wondering where I can get a new one.  I have been looking at Casio watches online and think I have found some I like. Until I can get a new one shipped to me though I think I’m going to buy a cheep one from the dollar store or something. I have to have some sort of watch to use or I’m going to be in some trouble.

One of the watches I am looking at is the Casio Wave Ceptor. It looks really cool and it has an antenna that matches the time and date with the transmitter from Fort Collins Colorado. This way I know I am on time and that my watch is always right. This is a little more expencive then I have to spend right now but I think I will add it to my christmas list. What do you think?

I always love looking at things online and today I found myself looking at a Seiko watch. My problem is I am so picky about watches that I couldn’t figure out which one I wanted. There were 3 or 4 that I liked. The pictures on this post are my two favorite.

My mom told me to pick out something for Christmas now so that she can save up for it. I don’t think I’m going to have her buy me one of these. I don’t like her spending that much on me. yes they are only around $100 but I still don’t like it and right now she needs to spend her money on other things. So anyway which one do you like best? Maybe I’ll buy one with that government rebate I’m getting.
